Welcome to the certification page where you will find the latest ASQ refresher course schedule and information links to help you select what certification is right for you and help you prepare for your certification exam.
There are 15 certifications offered by the American Society for Quality (ASQ) and here is the link (a) to find the one for you. The table will list the certification, description, and education/experience required. Click on the certification name and you will get the detailed information you will need to know.
The main text for the San Diego Refresher Course is the Primer from the Quality Council of Indiana (b) where you can order on line or by phone. In addition to the Primer you may order the Electronic exam CD and solution text to the questions in the Primer. There are additional reference books & materials listed on your selected certification page that you may purchase from the ASQ.

17 week course covers: management & leadership; quality systems; product & process design; product & process control; testing & measurement; quality control & management planning methods; improvement techniques; basic statistics including calculating probabilities; statistical applications including control charts; advanced statistics including hypothesis testing. This is a fast moving course with reading & homework weekly. Requirements for students: eight years on-the-job experience in one or more of the above described areas. 22 week course covers: reliability design, testing and management; probabilities and statistics for reliability; modeling and predictions; and maintainability. This is a fast moving course with reading & homework weekly.
During the course, there will be three separate one-week breaks, that class will not meet, in order to accomodate vacation plans.
Requirements for students: eight years on-the-job experience in one or more of the above described areas of reliability engineering. A minimum of three years of this experience must be in a decision making role. See course flier for materials needed. Course fee is $949 for non-ASQ members, $799 for ASQ members if registering on first night of course. Further discounts will be granted for early registration: $719 for ASQ Non-Members that register by March 30; $639 for ASQ members registered by February 29. 10 week course covers: technical math; metrology; calibration; blueprint symbols; how to use a sampling plan; types of inspection; basic statistics including how to read a control chart; and quality concepts & methods for problem solving. This is a fast moving course with reading & homework weekly.
Requirements for students: Two years of on-the-job experience in mechanical inspection or a related field. A high-school diploma or GED, or an additional three years of related on-the-job experience.
